The Sound of the Homeland Drum is a collection of literary works spanning decades of creative and community outputs by Peter Schuler of the Mississaugas of the Credit. Peter's work is driven by a strong sense of justice for Indigenous people and for our non-human relatives. While not shying away from complex emotions like grief, loss, rage, and anger, on the contrary, his work teaches us we need to find the ways to feel these emotions while simultaneously not feeding them, hiding them or looking away from them.
This collection of work by Peter was launched at the ArtsEverywhere Festival in Guelph in May of 2026 through the Indigenous Otherwise Program, and printed by PS Guelph, both supported by the Musagetes Foundation.
