No. 1 is the first in a series of three books by film-maker M Blash. It combines writing, drawing, photography and film stills. M writes: 'No. 1 is a diary of my first few days back in New York City after living in my hometown of Portland, Oregon, for four years. The book documents my emergence into a city I knew well at one time, but that now reads like a specter of my childhood'. No. 2 and No. 3, also by M. Blash, are forthcoming from Publication Studio.
