A number of years ago, MoMA Library bibliographer David Senior put on an exhibit at the museum of publications that had appeared in the Whole Earth Catalog. Sam Gould, from Red76, got in touch with him to find out when the publication about the publications—a natural fit, no?—would be released. Well, the answer was that is wasn’t. There were no plans. So, David and Sam decided to produce a small publication of visual snapshots from the catalog of some publication references, as well as an essay on the subject of the relationship between publications and the Whole Earth Catalog itself.
