The New York–based online magazine Triple Canopy will host Publication Studio for a weekend in residence at 177 Livingston, in downtown Brooklyn, April 9–10. We'll pop-up our storefront operations during the day and host two public events at night. Editors of Triple Canopy will participate in both events.
Pop-up hours: Friday and Saturday, April 9-10, 10am -4pm.
Friday 4/9 @ 7 pm. $1 booze/beer/wine and free talk. What happend to dinner? Sorry, we could not find food special enough, so we're offering cheap booze instead. We can all eat out afterwards.
A conversation led by moderator/provocateur Mattathias Schwartz (Philadelphia Independent, Harper's) with Publication Studio, Colin Robinson (co-founder of OR Books), Peter Russo (Triple Canopy), Larry Rinder (curator and Publication Studio author), Colin Beattie (What We Are Learning), Pravin Jain (ex-Enron executive), and you, of course. The subjects: "What is publication?" and "What good are bookstores?" Live music by Dragging an Ox Through Water. Booze, beer, and wine $1.
Party, Saturday 4/10 @ 8 pm. We’re having a party. Live music by Dragging an Ox Through Water. People, drinks, and great new art and lit by Publication Studio authors: paintings by Dana Dart-McLean; prints by Israel Lund; projected photos by Ari Marcopoulos; new video by M Blash; very short readings by Christine Hou, Pravin Jain, Matthew Stadler, and What We Are Learning. New video selections curated by Cleopatra’s. 8–11 pm, $5 at the door.
