Publication Fair: holiday extravaganza of great PDX publications
Free and open to the public.

An old-fashioned fair, like 4-H but with books instead of livestock. See the
tastiest new productions from your favorite PDX printers,
publishers, and publication vendors. Enjoy our popcorn balls and hot cider.
Take

of future publication. Buy great books!

Among the participants:

…and more…

Publication info sessions will be free, informal, and last an hour,
more or less. We’ll cover: Material Practices, Social Practices,
and Digital Practices.

Our focus is on basic data and resource sharing to help those involved
in publication find the resources and collaborators
they need. Be ready to offer whatever
specific info you can — addresses, names, URLs, specific
tools. Who’s great to work with, here and elsewhere? Which
suppliers have awesome deals? How do you “get the word out?” What freeware really gets the job done?
You can sit in on the session or you
can participate using a laptop with wireless connectivity
and the Etherpad
shared document that will function as our digital notebook.
In either
case,
you
go
home with three new resource lists.
(These info session are a new iteration of the ongoing
Using Global Media workshop.)
